SQUENTIS

Updated: Jul 17, 2020

The 4th-semester studio project. Two weeks long.

Squid is chosen for this workshop as an inspiration for structure. Squid gains its movement energy by using the pressure of water. It takes water full of inside and giving it all of a sudden.

Squid can increase its speed when faster swimming required. This movement helps Squentis’ modules to connect. Modules of this system are connecting and producing the main system by time.

As a concept ‘Mission Aquarius’, this biomimetic structural organism has to provide a place that people can survive thanks to that and live in it. In the future, because of the high usage of natural resources, the water level increases, and for this reason, people have to look for new habitats. Squentis helps to reproduce new habitats on the ocean especially for humans. This project focus on producing water sources with biomimetic materials. Volunteers and scientists can join and live in this system. One system can consist of eighty years. In the last step, Squentis can take all people into it.
