Updated: Jul 17, 2020

The 5th-semester studio project.

Passavill is Rural Studio Project in Barbaros, Urla. It named by Passage and Village.

Creating a passage is the main idea of Passavill.

In Passavill, there are many passages and while walking in the building you will have vistas where are mostly seen stonework spaces.

The facility is at a sloped site and has a 370 square meter footprint.

On-site, there was a ruin, its stones are reused in the cafe and reconstructed well’s structures. That ruin’s stones and Urla stones inspired to add stonework space to Passavill.

Passavill Physical Model

Passavill aims to get more people to use the facility. Wells are nodes for meetings.

Project area setback from the road as a broken path where has Spanish Steps where is wooden sun breakers placed. That makes the place welcoming and this path provides views to inside of exhibition building and stoneworking area. The interior becomes an exhibition for the exterior with this view. In cafe exterior with wells becomes exhibition for inside.

The silhouette of Barbaros is an inspiration for the facade. The facade is likely other buildings and that is making the facility a part of the village.
